Teaming Up For Success

One of my NCP colleague’s clients recently sent an email stating

Thank you for helping us through the recent software selection and installation. Without your team we could not have achieved the level of success and satisfaction enjoyed by both the staff and the Company.

Note the use of the word Team. There were three members of the Network Of Consulting Professionals involved in the project, each with different skills. The power of belonging to a group such as the NCP is that the group in itself provides an atmosphere of success. Each Member is constantly working towards making their own practice successful through their own efforts, but also by utilising the skills and expertise of the other members.

What Is The Secret To Success?

As members of the NCP the optimum goal is to enhance the performance of our clients and their companies. The overall skill sets of the NCP Members enable them to identify the areas within a client’s business that need improvement to enable them to maximise their success. This allows Members to utilise their own skills be they in specific areas of expertise such as logistics, accounting or IT etc. or to bring in other specialists from the group when necessary. The secret to this success is in identifying the areas of need accurately and applying the correct skills to improve the situation. These skills may also be in mentoring, coaching or consulting.

Building the trust to enable successful outcomes.

The innate ability of NCP Members to achieve the results required builds a level of trust between the consultant and the client to the extent that they tend to become a team. The team then works consistently to improve all facets of the clients business over time while building further trust in the NCP through the use of external resources. This recipe for success is rare in the business world where the sharing of expertise is not commonly done so freely and openly. One of my NCP colleagues stated recently,

Because of the diverse range of skills and expertise within the group, there has never been a client problem I couldn’t fix or a requirement I couldn’t fill.

Where else can you say that you have heard a comment like that? The network is what breeds success. To get involved in the conversation, comment below on your experiences both within and outside the NCP.
